JAMMU, May 18: Inter-Zonal District Level Competi-tion in the sports disciplines of Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Volleyball and Wrestling Boys Ubder-14 and Under-17 years of age of District Jammu for the year 2018-19 concluded at MA Stadium Jammu and at Govt Boys High School Jammu Cantt, here today.
Dansal Zone lifted twin trophies of Volleyball.
In all, 895 boys drawn from 14 Zones of Jammu District took part in the competitions.
The competitions were organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the patronage of Shiekh Fayaz Ahmad, Director General, Youth Services & Sports and under the overall supervision of Madan Lal, Joint Director. Chanchal Kour, DYSSO Jammu was the Organising Secretary of the tournament, who distributed trophies among the winners and runners-up teams in presence of Capt A. Muthuraman, Principal, Sainik School Nagrota.
In Kho-Kho Under-14 boys final, Akhnoor Zone defeated Jammu Zone by 1 innings
and 1 point, while in Under-17 boys final, Marh Zone beat Bhalwal Zone again by 1 innings and 1 point.
In Kabaddi Under-17 boys, Jammu Zone outplayed Akhnoor Zone by 7points to win the title, while in Volleyball Under-14 boys final, Dansal Zone beat Miran Sahib Zone by 2-0 sets, while in Volleyball Under-17 boys summit clash, Dansal Zone drubbed Bhalwal Zone by 2-0 sets to win the title.
In Wrestling Under-17 boys, the gold medals in various weight categories went to Sahil Kumar Satwari Zone, Shubam Kumar of Satwari, Rahul Singh of Satwari, Guljeet Singh of Akhnoor, Vipin Kaith of Marh Zone, Shakeel Ahmed of Jammu Zone, Ashiq Hussain of Jammu Zone and Goutam Sharma of Akhnoor Zone.
The matches were officiated by a panel of experts drawn from the Department of Youth Services and Sports, J&K.
