Inter-State narcotic smugglers held with ganja

JAMMU, Mar 3: Police today arrested two inter-State narcotic smugglers along with ganja near vegetable market road at Narwal.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Trikuta Nagar police station laid a naka near vegetable market road at Narwal and asked two persons to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the persons escaped from the spot, but cops chased and nabbed them near some distance from the naka point. During checking, police recovered 4 kilograms of ganja from their possession, which was concealed by them in bags. Both the narcotic smugglers were arrested, who have been identified as Durga Kashyap, son of Amrit Lal and Sanjay Kumar Kashyap, son of Vijay, both residents of Chattisgarh.
They had brought the ganja from their native place to sale it among the youth here, but police foiled their bid.
A case under FIR Number 47/16 under Section 8/20 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Bahu Fort police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Bahu Fort police station Inspector Kuldeep Khajuria and Incharge Narwal police post SI Mehmood Khan made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO East Chandan Kohli, SP South Shaazad Salaria and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
