Casual workers project demands

JAMMU, Mar 3:  Casual and need base workers enaged in the PHE Department have urged upon the higher authorities to release their pending wages and also regularize their services.
In a meeting of the casual / need based workers of Jammu province  of PHE  Department,  held here under the  chairmanship of  Pritam Singh the speakers raised their burning issues.
These workers expressed strong resentment over  non – payment of wages to them by the PHE authorities.  It was also stated that all the employees were engaged in the department by the Superintending Engineer, Hydraulic Circle, Doda vide No. 30/PW/Hyd of 2012  dated  03.04.2012 in lieu of their lands acquired by the department for raising their infrastructure like PHE water tanks and  filter plants at different locations.  These workers  have given their respective agriculture lands to the department against the said job but they are now being victimized.
They urged upon the higher authorities to release their wages and also issue regularization orders in their favour. It was resolved in the meeting that in case  genuine demands of the workers are not redressed by March 15, they will be forced to go on indefinite strike and stall all types of working.
Prominent among those present included  Jeet Singh,  Bilal Ahmed, Kamal Singh, Mohd Iqbal, Mohd Shafi, Mohd Rafi, Mudassar and Rajinder Singh.
