JAMMU, Mar 1: A meeting was held here today under the chairmanship of Ch. Rashid Azam Inqlabi where issues of daily wagers like regularization and wages as per Minimum Wages Act were discussed.
Speakers in the meeting claimed that higher authorities in J&K administration are not addressing the genuine and justified demands of daily wagers.
They said that these workers performed duty during tough times as front line workers but they are being deprived of the much needed facilities.
Addressing in virtual mode Inqulabi said that decision of J&K LG to initiate the process of regularization of the daily wagers in PDD is a good step and demanded regularization and implementation of Minimum Wages Act in PHE, PDD, PWD, Health, Rural Development and other departments.
He also demanded lifting of ban on engagement of field staff on new water supply schemes,
Inqlabi appeal all the Unions to come on a single platform to launch struggle for their right.
He appealed J&K LG, Manoj Sinha to look into the matter personally.
