Infighting in BJP as old party loyalists neglected

JAMMU, Sept 21: The infightings in the BJP have cropped up as some old party loyalists have raised banner of revolt against the State leadership for denying them ticket for the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) elections.

Some of the women members, have alleged that the old loyalists working with the party for the last more than 10-15 years have been denied ticket for the Corporation elections whereas, some members who joined the party hardly few days ago, have been given ticket by the party leadership here.
Especially among the women cadre of the party, there is strong resentment against the State party president, MLA West Sat Sharma and members of the Election Board constituted by the party.
One of the woman wing member from Jammu south, Ms Sonia told Excelsior that she was working with the party for the last more than 15 years. She was assured by the party leadership to provide mandate and also told to begin preparations for the same but at the eleventh hour, they picked up the candidate who joined party hardly three days ago. She was insulted by the elders in the party when she took up the matter with them, she maintained.
Another woman member from Ward 47 also raised similar issue and alleged that no norms are being adopted, it is just pick and choose in the party. She said the required parameters are being ignored.
State BJP woman wing president, Rajni Sethi also expressed strong resentment and alleged that many old and deserving woman party members have been denied tickets. All the parameters fixed by the party high command were set aside. Being their representative, she would take up the issue with the party high command in Delhi, Sethi maintained.
