Industry workers calls on Ganga, demand enhancement of wages

JAMMU: With the objective of apprising the Minister about their demands, hundreds of industry workers from various industrial units of Bari Brahmana Industrial Estate called on the Minster for Industries and Commerce Chander Parkash Ganga, here today.

The workers put forth their demand for payment of minimum wages as fixed by the central government.

Ganga assured the workers that they will get wages as per Labour Law/Act adding that their issues will be taken up with the Industry Federation and trade unions and would be redressed at the earliest.

The Minister said that the present dispensation is committed to safeguard the interests of the workers and it will leave no stone unturned to ensure that they get their right due.
