NEW DELHI: India and the United States today renewed their commitment to work together in the healthcare sector for better addressing the health challenges faced by the people of the two countries.
On the concluding day of the second ‘India-US Health Dialogue’, experts deliberated on issues of bilateral importance, including communicable and non-communicable diseases, low-cost innovations, food and drug regulations, traditional medicine and access to medicines among others.
During the two-day event, the participants reaffirmed the commitment to strengthen scientific, regulatory and health cooperation between the two nations and the global community and exchange information on policies, regulations, research, technologies, programs, activities and practices.
“The final goal is to identify emerging areas of mutual interest and facilitate the development of new collaborations.
“We have reaffirmed our commitment to work together for better addressing the health challenges faced by our people in both countries, such as cancer, communicable and non- communicable diseases, traditional medicines, food and drug regulation and antimicrobial resistance among others,” said health secretary C K Mishra.
