India to join fight against IS under UN flag only, says Parrikar

NEW DELHI : India today made it clear that it will join fight against international terrorist organisation ISIS under the aegis of United Nations only. India’s stand on ISIS was articulated by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar who said that New Delhi will be part of fight after the UN passes a resolution to this effect.
Taking to reporters after paying his tribute at Amar Jawan Jyoti on the occasion of Vijay Diwas to commemorate victory in 1971 Indo-Pak war, Mr Parrikar said, “If UN approves a resolution&there’s a UN mission (against ISIS), India will definitely participate.”
His comments come on a day when a terrorist belonging to al-Qaeda was arrested in the National Capital. Earlier, Mr Parrikar along with three service chiefs laid wreath at Amar Jawan Jyoti, India Gate to pay respect to the martyrs of 1971 war. (UNI)
