India to convey its concerns to Pak on LOC violations

NEW DELHI :  India will convey to Pakistan on the  margins of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) here tomorrow and on November 12 New Delhi’s serious concern on repeated violations of the Line of Control (LoC) by Pakistani troops.
External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid will meet Mr Sartaj Aziz, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s Special Envoy, on the sidelines of the meet and convey India’s concerns on repeated border violations by Pakistani troops and the need to have peace and tranquillity along the border for a successful peace process between the two countries, sources said here today.
The sources said the two would also discuss the follow-up to the September 29 meeting between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif in New York on the margins of the UN General Assembly.
In the September 29 talks, both leaders had agreed that  improving the situation on the LoC is the ‘precondition’ to  ‘forward movement’ in India-Pakistan relations.
Mr Aziz, who arrived here earlier today, is also  scheduled to meet Kashmiri separatist leaders at the Pakistan High Commission later this evening.
The proposed meeting has been severely criticised by the  Opposition BJP which said it was a violation of international  norms and an attempt to internationalise the Kashmir problem. (AGENCIES)
