India snubs Pak for double speak on terror and peace

NEW DELHI:Amid high profile diplomatic tussle and summoning of both the High Commissioners in Delhi and in Islamabad, India on Thursday snubbed Pakistan for making “brazen attempt” to subvert India’s unity.

“This action by Pakistan has confirmed yet again that it officially abets and encourages individuals those associated with terrorism and anti-India activities,” MEA spokesman Raveesh Kumar told reporters here referring to Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi making a tele talk with All Parties Hurriyat Conference chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.

Pakistan’s actions only exposes the two “faces” of the government there – “One talks about peace and good relations with India and the other face takes actions which are completely anti-India”.

The strong words from the MEA spokesman comes after the High Commissioner of Pakistan to India Sohail Mahmood was summoned by Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale here on Wednesday late evening while India’s envoy Ajay Bisaria was summoned in Islamabad on Thursday.

He accused that the Pakistan has been repeatedly “instigating” people who are openly speaking against India.(AGENCIES)
