Katra, Oct 8: A meeting of All India Devotional Song Competition Committee was held here today under the chairmanship of Rakesh Wazir, Committee Chairman to discuss the preparations of upcoming devotional song competition during Navratra Festival.
The competition is being organized jointly by SMVD Shrine Board, J&K Tourism and J&K Bank in association with some other organizations.
Speaking in the meeting Wazir said that Chairman J&K Bank, Parvez Ahmed will inaugurate the Devotional Song Competition on October 10.
He also said that renowned Bollywood singers including Sardul Sikander, Shanker Sawhney, Amrinder Bobby, Masha Ali, Diljan etc would come one by one on daily basis besides performing their duties as Judges over there.
“In addition to that the top film and media personalities have already given their consent to be there in the panel of judges for final of the Devotional Song Competition,” Wazir maintained adding that this year the former winner of the competition including Mool Raj, Sonali Dogra, Anjusha, Sanjeet Kumar, Ravi Kumar and Chaman Lehri will also perform live.
He also said that this year it will be the 21st devotional song competition and all over India publicity for auditions and participation is going on through print and electronic media and these auditions are starting from Oct 10 to 14 while registration can be done at Tourist Office Katra personally or through phone numbers 01991-232005, 233301 and 02.
Wazir informed that that 1st prize in the competition would be Rs three lakh and recording contract with Venus records & Tapes Ltd.
