NEW DELHI, Sep 25:

Indian and Chinese army officials held one more flag meeting this afternoon to resolve the face-off at Chumar in eastern Ladakh.

The border meeting at a forward post in Chushul was followed by diplomatic parleys held yesterday in New Delhi and Beijing simultaneously.

There are reports that Chinese troops have started gradually retreating.

Sources said the meeting between the two sides took place at Spangurgap post in the Chinese side, facing the Indian last post at Chushul.

The meeting which was called on the request by the Chinese began at 1500 hrs. The Army officials here were not available for the comments.

Two armies have been locked in face-off situation in the Chumar area for the last 16 days. Even after the flag meeting, situation of the ground remains unchanged, informed sources said.

The Chinese Army learnt to have insisted that the Indian Army should remove a tin-roof hut which it had erected in the first week of this month. On the other hand, India reiterated its position that Chinese troops must go back to their original bases. (AGENCIES)
