India A beat Bangladesh A by 75-runs, win one-day series

BENGALURU: Suresh Raina bounced back to form hitting a fine 104 as the young India ‘A’ today asserted themselves to defeat Bangladesh ‘A’ by 75 runs in the third and final one-day tie here to win the series series 2-1.
The match played at M Chinnaswamy stadium witnessed the Indians rattle up 297 for 6 batting first. Suresh Raina came back to his best after performing poorly in the first two outings in this series. He earlier was out of action for four months.
But, still, he celebrated retaining his spot in both T20 and ODIs squads against South Africa, with his trade mark century studded with nine boundaries and a huge six. The 94-ball innings resurrected his confidence as well as ensured his place in the playing 11 against the proteas in the coming series both in T-20 and ODIs.
His hard hitting innings also sealed the fate of the experienced Bangladeshi side, which hoped of a series win after winning the scored match two days ago to level the scores 1-1.
India A, propelled by the Raina’s century, also saw a fine innings from Sunil Samson who missed a century scoring 90 (98b, 10×4, 1×6). The duo added 116 runs in 19.1 overs, after India batted first.
The Kerala keeper batsman was the best performer in the series and showed composure and maturity by anchoring the India A side in the three match series.
This helped the home side pile up a healthy score, while Bangladesh batting wilted under pressire of rain interruption and steady bowling from Srinath Avarind, who celebrated his recall into the Indian side, in the T20 side against South Africa and left arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav who took 2/29 in the rain truncated match.
