JAMMU, June 8: A deputation of Independent Corporators of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) met Advocate Purnima Sharma, Deputy Mayor JMC and discussed the issues being faced by them in their respective wards.
The demands, which were raised include implementation of 74 Constitutional Amendment Act in J&K State, appointment of additional Safai Karamcharies, release of funds, convey Council Meetings, equal faculties to all Corporators, deployment of linemen and helpers, allocation of additional funds and facilities to newly created wards keeping in views their under developed conditions, geographical area and population of wards, allotment of funds for emergency works, deployment of autos for disposal of garbage with two Safai Karamcharies, implementation of Centrally sponsored schemes, starting of pending development works, fix responsibility of contractor to maintaining, spread of information regarding official tours of Mayor, Deputy Mayor or Chairman Standing Committee in their respective wards, scarcity of water and unscheduled power and provision of water coolers.
Deputy Mayor JMC Advocate Purnima Sharma gave patient hearing to the issues raised by the Independent Corporators and assured them to address their problems.
The deputation included Independent Corporators namely Vijay Choudhary, Sham Lal Basson, Prof Yudhvir Singh, Anu Bali, Sandhya Gupta, Inder Singh Sudan, Amit Kumar Gupta, Rani Devi and Jagdish Raj Sharma.
