Independence Day celebrated with enthusiasm

JAMMU, Aug 14: Independence Day was celebrated in advance by several educational institutions as well as social and cultural organizations by organizing colourful programmes and saluting the National Flag.
Modern Montessori International Preschool, Jammu celebrated the Day in their virtual class with great enthusiasm and fervor. All the montessorians were dressed up in colours of National Flag (saffron, white and green). The function started with welcome address presented by Principal Pragya Gupta. She highlighted the importance of the Independence Day. This was followed by patriotic song Vande Matram presented by the children.
Class mentor Manisha Gurung gave a power point presentation on Independence Day and explained how India after a long struggle of freedom fighters got freedom from British rule. Children made tricolour salad following their class mentor Shilpa Deol. The celebrations culminated with singing of National Anthem. Directors of the School, Bhavna Rohmetra and Sapna Rohmetra extended Independence Day greetings to all staff members and children.
On the eve of Independence Day, KC International School organized a dance competition to provide platform to the students to showcase their talent. The competition was organized into three categories i.e. Sub – Junior (Pre- Primary to Class 4), Junior (Classes 5 to 7) and Senior Category (class 8, 9 and 11). The participants were judged on the basis of expressions, music, props, costume and presentation. The final Round was held through virtual platform. The whole event was the conceptualized by Principal, Anupama Sinha and executed by the Activity Coordinator Rajni Malhotra.
A week-long celebration of Independence Day culminated today in Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu with virtual tour on “My View on J&K” in the presence of Dr Sindu Kapoor (Dean Faculty Social Sciences, Cluster University of Jammu) who was the chief guest. While relinquishing the celebration, Rohini Aima (Principal cum Vice- Chairperson of the school) asserted that Covid-19 has opened vistas for all of us resulting in Educators being technocrats, preparing future leaders with great insight and students being self independent.
Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School-Jeevan Nagar Jammu today conducted an “Online Activity of Making Tri-color Flag” for all the students of Class 2nd. Full participation of the students in this activity revealed their zealous enthusiasm for the ‘Love and Respect’ of the country’s National Flag which symbolizes not only the ‘Unity and Sovereignty’ of Indian Nation but also for a universal call of ‘Dedication and Sacrifice’ on the part of every Indian whenever ‘Our Motherland-India’ faces such challenging time.
Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan celebrated Independence Day with enthusiasm at Open Air Theatre, Durga Bhawan, Janipur, Jammu. The programme commenced with National Anthem “Jan Gan Man” and “Vande Matram”. After the flag hosting, an impressive cultural program was presented by the students of music and computer institute, artists of BLSKS and Sangam Tru Art Production.
Sant Nirankari Mission celebrated Independence Day by paying homage to all the freedom fighters. They highlighted the contributions of our freedom fighters in the independence of our motherland and vowed to do anything for the country.
A door to door campaign regarding celebration of 74th Independence Day was organized by Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, a teacher deputed in Government Primary School, Pouni, in Pouni area. Students and their parents were given awareness about the significance of celebrating National Festival. Students were given Tricolor and sweets who in return presented patriotic and regional songs.
