JAMMU, Mar 7: Pahari Development Forum Kishtwar has demanded that Paddar Sub-Division of Kishtwar should be included in the Pahari Speaking Area, as has been done in case of Rajouri-Poonch, Tangdar and Gurez.
A memorandum in this regard was submitted by the Forum chairman Kartar Singh to Vijay Kumar, Advisor to the Governor, here today.
In the memorandum, the Forum also demanded establishment of a firewood depot in Paddar and submitted that the Rural area of district Kishtwar (Paddar) may be given Deodar and Kail wood on the concessional rates.
Other demands highlighted in the memorandum, included; release of funds for construction of stadium at Gulabgarh-Paddar, upgradation of Sub-Centre Health and Veternary Centre in Chitto Paddar, release of pending wages to the VDC members, no deduction of mess charges from salary of SPOs.
Explaining that VDC members were suffering a lot as their wages were not being released, the Forum urged necessary and immediate action in this regard keeping in view importance and relevance of the VDC members in the sensitive areas, which are under threat from militants.
