JAMMU, Mar 6: Shamsheer Hakla Poonchi, a Gujjar leader of the State has demanded inclusion of Gojri language in 8th Schedule of Constitution of India.
In a statement issued here, Hakla Poonchi said that Gojri is being spoken by about 34 lakh Gujjars and Bakkerwals of the State, which is a big number and therefore cannot be ignored.
Maintaining that the inclusion of the language in 8th Schedule would ensure the development and spread of Gojri, he appealed Governor NN Vohra to approach the Government of India with the recommendation that Gojri Language be included in the 8th Schedule of Constitution of India.
