RAMBAN, Mar 6: Police today arrested a man and recovered about 450 grams of charas from his possession.
According to police sources, a police party from police station Banihal laid a special naka near Railway Crossing Banihal. During checking, a pedestrian identified as Javed Ahmed Beigh son of Gulam Beig, a resident of Chareel Tehesil Banihal, who was moving in suspicious circumstances, was stopped for checking.
But the pedestrian tried to escape from the spot. However, the alert cops chased him and apprehended at some distance. During his personal checking, 450 g of charas was recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, a case FIR No 23/2016 u/s 8/20 NDPS was registered against the accused, who was arrested by police team led by Inspector Nazir Ahmed, SHO PS Banihal under the supervision of Mohd Rafiq, SDPO Banihal and Randeep Kumar, SSP Ramban.
