‘Include ST community member into newly constituted Backward Commission’

JAMMU, Apr 20: Some organizations have demanded inclusion of one member from the ST community into the newly established Commission for Backward Classes.
J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) General Secretary, Shahnawaz Choudhary has questioned the intentions of J&K government over the newly constituted Commission for the welfare of Socially and Educationally Backward Classes headed by a retired HC Judge.
In a handout he said: “The biggest irony is that government hasn’t nominated even a single member from the ST community in this Commission constituted to discuss the issues of ST community.”
Choudhary demanded that one member from ST community should be appointed in the Commission.
Meanwhile, Chairman Gujjar Desh Charitable Trust, Choudhary Abdul Hamid has also demanded that the Lieutenant Governor of J&K should look into the matter and include a representative of ST community as a member of the Commission.
