JAMMU, Mar 28: Kashmir Sikh Sangat (KSS), an organization of Sikh community today stressed the need to induct a member from the community in the proposed new State Cabinet.
Addressing a press conference here today chairman of the body, Dr Dhanwant Singh strongly pleaded to provide representation to the Sikh community as Minister in new Cabinet. He said that Sikh community was ignored by both the parties even during previous Mufti Sayeed led Government.
President of the Kashmir Sikh Sangat, S Sewa Singh claimed that one Sikh community member S Charanjeet Singh Khalsa was already there as Member Legislative Council (MLC) and he should be inducted by the BJP as Cabinet Minister. This way minority Sikh community will also get justice, he added.
They further demanded setting up of Minority Commission in the State which is the long pending demand of the Sikh community. With the setting up of the Minority Commission, many issues of the minorities in J&K State would get due attention, they maintained.
These leaders further pointed out that KSS is organizing its annual convention on April 4, at Jammu Club near M A Stadium here in which major issues of the Sikh community will be strongly projected by the community leaders. The other members of the organistion including Karamjeet Singh and Balbir Singh were also present.
