Include left over deserving villages in granting reservation rights: Mula Ram

JAMMU, July 19: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Mula Ram and DCC president Rural, Hari Singh criticized the J&K Government for its failure to provide reservation to youth residing in the villages along the international Border (IB) in the Jammu region.
In a statement issued here today, the former Minister expressed resentment against the Government for not providing reservation benefits to youths of the border areas.
Terming it a cruel joke with the youth of the border belt of Jammu, Samba and Kathua, the JKPCC leader termed it “total failure” of the BJP to address the genuine concerns of the people. He said that due to the hollow policies of the BJP Government at the Centre, youth of Jammu and Kashmir are facing immense problems while pursuing Government jobs.
Mual Ram asserted that lofty promises being made by J&K BJP leaders in providing all sorts of benefits to the people residing border areas but in actual nothing has been done in this regard. He emphasized that Congress is committed to the welfare of people and youth of border areas of J&K and will take every possible step to provide reservation benefits to left out youths of several villages along International Borders in J&K.
Hari Singh also expressed resentment against the Government for neglecting several villages despite the fact that these villages fall within 0-6 km of the criteria set up by the Government for reservation benefits due to which youth are not able to get the benefit of reservation in Government jobs and army recruitment. He appealed to the Lt Governor Administration for immediately including left out villages which fall in aforesaid category.
