JAMMU, Jan 21: A grand Shobha Yatra was organized by Shri Guru Ravi Dass Satsang Society R.S. Pura – Bishnah on the eve of celebration of Prakash Divas of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravi Dass Ji Maharaj today under the aegis of Swami Gurdeep Giri Ji Maharaj.
The Shobha Yatra was flagged off by Swami Ji from Shri Guru Ravi Dass Bhawan Kotli Shah Dhoula and he delivered spiritual sermons and threw light on the teachings of Shri Guru Ravi Dass Ji Maharaj.
More than 40 branches of Sabhas along with thousands of devotees from all walks of life participated in Shobha Yatra. Over 50 colourful Jhankies along with Police Band and School Squard with bands joined Shobha Yatra which passed through Thikrian, Bagga Marh Gagian. Various social and religious organizations welcomed Shobha Yatra at different places and distributed eatables.
Shri Guru Ravi Dass Sabha, R. S. Pura along with Sangat welcomed Swami Ji and Shobha Yatra at R. S. Pura. Swami Ji advised the Sangat to shun the path of violence, social evils and drug abuse and to follow the path shown by Shri Guru Ravi Dass Ji.
Bhushan Lal Dogra – Vice Chairman of J&K Advisory Board for Welfare and Development of Scheduled Castes also spoke on this occasion and stressed the Sangat to follow the teachings of Shri Guru Ravi Dass Ji. Tehsil administration, Police authority and Health Deptt. extended full co-operation.
A squad of more than 40 women cleaned the path of Shobha Yatra. The meritorious students were also honoured on this occasion. This grand Shobha Yatra was supervised by Shri Guru Ravi Dass S. S. Trust, Shri Guru Ravi Dass Satsang Society (J&K) M. L. Banalia – general secretary, All J&K Guru Ravi Dass Sabha, Jammu, C. L. Banal – Chairman, S. S Trust, Kesar Singh – convenor Satsang Society (J&K), Sham Lal Basson – president Dalit Chetna Manch, Vijay Lochan – Ex president All J&K Guru Ravi Dass Sabha, Er. Natha Ram (retd.) – Chief Engineer and Incharge Construction at Sukh Sagar Bhawan and all office bearers of S. S. Trust and Society played active role to organize Shobha Yatra.
A beautiful grand Murti of Shri Guru Ravi Dass Ji Maharaj was installed in the temple of Shri Guru Ravi Dass Ji Maharaj R. S. Pura by Swami Ji. Guru Ka Langer was also served to all the Sangat.
Meanwhile, All J&K Shri Guru Ravi Dass Sabha Kathua has appealed the people to participate in 641st Parkash Utsav of Shri Guru Dass Ji Maharaj falling on January 31 and the Nagar Kirtan to be held on January 27 at Kathua. The Naghar Kirtan will start from Guru Ravi Dass Gurudwara Old Bus Stand Kathua and after passing through various areas it will culminate at Old Bus Stand later.
It will be taken out under the aegis of Swami Gurdeep Giri Ji Maharaj Dera Pathankot Wale, a handout issued by the Sabha here, today said.
