POONCH. Jan 11: In connection with the birth anniversary of 10th Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, an impressive Nagar- Kirtan was taken out here today.
The procession started from Gurdawara Singh Sabha , which passes through different bazaars of Poonch and finally culminated at Gurdwara Singh Sabha. The feats of Gatka parties from different Mohallas was main attraction during the Shobha Yatra.
Ragi Jathas riding on the decorated tractor trolleys were reciting Gurbani throughout the route. At College Ground special Gatka and martial art was displayed for about one hour by the Sikh youth. A large number of Sikh community people from Poonch city and over a dozen adjoining villages participated in this religious programme.
SSP and Addl SP, Poonch during morning hours visited the Gurdawara to review security arrangements. The Deputy Commissioner, SSP and other District officers also participated in the Nagar- Kirtan.
DGPC president , Narinder Singh, general secretary Rajinder Singh highlighted the teachings of the great Guru who sacrificed his whole family for the Nation.
