UDHAMPUR, Sept 12: Three impersonators, posing as ARTO and his subordinates, were arrested from Kud, where the trio was collecting money from drivers of the vehicles plying on the National Highway.
The arrested accused have been identified as Rattandeep Singh, son of Rajinder Singh, Amarjeet Singh son of Surjit Singh and Vijay Singh son of Payar Singh. All are resident of Kud.
Using a Bolero car, bearing registration number JK02AK-7776, they were halting vehicles on the National Highway and demanding money from the drivers after asking them to get their documents verified.
The accused were arrested by a Police team, led by SHO Kud, Sanjay Gupta when some drivers and locals suspected their activities and informed the Police.
Police also seized the Bolero vehicle and registered a case FIR number 77/16, under section 419, 420 and 471 against the accused.
