SRINAGAR, Oct 31: Police arrested an impersonator who posed as Additional Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Dr. Shah Faisal to get favours from officers.
A police spokesman said that Srinagar police had received information that from the last two months some officers of the State were receiving calls from a mobile number and the caller used to reveal his identity as Dr. Shah Faisal and was asking for some favours from them.
A case FIR number 210/2013 under Section 66 IT Act was registered in Police Station Saddar and the investigation was started.
Police said that during investigations the particular cell number was traced to Showkat Ahmad Lone, son of Mohammad Ramzan, resident of Batwina, Ganzpora, Ganderbal.
Lone was arrested and the mobile phone was recovered from his possession. During his questioning, he confessed of impersonating as Dr. Shah Faisal for extracting favours from Government officials.
