JAMMU, May 30: The Indigenous Medicine Organisation (IMO) in a meeting held under the chairman-ship of Dr K K Gandotra adopted a resolution in which it was demanded that first batch of BAMS/BUMS may be started in Government Ayurvedic and Unani Colleges in the State during 2014-15 academic session.
The orgainsation expressed satisfaction over the efforts of Dr Abdul Kabir Dar, Director Indian System of Medicine J&K for strengthening the department at the grass root level, popularizing ISM among the masses and property projecting the ISM Department, for setting up of and conducting of ISM pharmacists training course, up gradation of Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu by way of constructing AYUSH polyclinic building and overall development of infrastructures by his dedication and devotion.
Members demanded to fill up the vacant posts of medical officer ISM through Public Service Commission (PSC).
They also ridiculed the demand of separate Directorate as the department is very small and the spirit of AYUSH is in its total integration not in segregation for the interest at the cost of whole system of ISM(AYUSH).
