BHADERWAH, Mar 20: The sleuths of Forest Department seized 579.19 cft illicit timber and also retrieved 20 kanals of forest land from encroachers.
As per official spokesman, the Central Forest Control Room team led by Mohammad Haroon Khan Incharge FCR Bhaderwah and Tariq Hussain, Mohammad Ayoub, Farooq Ahmed, Masood Ahmed alongwith FPF J-8 staff under the supervision of Vivek Verma, Divisional Forest Officer Bhaderwah carried out raids in different areas of Chiralla Range.
During the raids, the forest department sleuths seized 472.15cft illicit timber from village Kuthal and 107.04 cft illicit timber along with machine with motor from Mubashir Hussain, son of Din Mohammad of village Dabranoo, tehsil Thathri.
Cases have been registered against the culprits under Forest Acts.
Meanwhile, a joint team of forest officials headed by Range Officer, Neru Sagar Hussain Jamwal along with staff of Forest Control Room and FPF J-8 Doda also evicted 20 kanals of demarked forest land from encroachers in Compartment 56/neru.
