DODA, Apr 5: The sleuths of Forest Department and Police Post Bhagwa seized illicit timber and arrested two persons.
As per police sources, on specific information, a joint team of Forest Department and Police Post Bhagwa led by ASI Angraz Singh laid a naka at Domail and intercepted a Tata Mobile vehicle.
On seeing the sleuths, the driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape from the spot, but lost control over the vehicle and it turned turtle on the road.
During checking, the sleuths seized illicit timber in the shape of finished doors and windows and arrested two persons, who were identified as Kafaitullah, son of Ghulam Rasool, a resident of Gurmul and presently residing in Akramabad area of District Doda and Aasif Hussain, son of Mohammad Rafi, a resident of Chiraala District Doda.
The seized timber and arrested persons were later handed over to Forest Department for further action under Forest Act.
The whole operation was carried out under the supervision of SHO Doda Inspector Muneer Ahmed Khan, DySP Headquarters Doda Manoj Kumar, Additional SP Doda Master Popsy and SSP Doda Mumtaz Ahmed, Range Officer Headquarters Doda Forest Department Adil Shan and DFO Doda Navneet Singh.
