SRINAGAR, July 27: The State Vigilance Commission has directed the Custodian General to take immediate action and furnish compliance report before the Commission about illegal constructions raised over Evacuee Properties in Karnah tehsil of district Kupwara.
Earlier, the SVC while taking cognizance on a complaint lodged by one Abdul Rehman Pathani against Revenue officials alleging their involvement in large scale irregularities and corrupt practices besides misusing their official position and issuing various fake and fictitious mutations vis-a-vis migrant properties in Tehsil Karnah, sought factual report from SDM Karnah.
The SDM Karnah, after thorough on spot enquiry prima-facie established that a number of illegal constructions over Evacuee property have been raised and it remained unexplained as to why and how the encroachers were allowed construction on Evacuee Land illegally. The SVC, based on these findings, directed Custodian General to constitute a fact finding Committee and submit a report to the Commission.
The Committee, comprising Deputy Custodian I/C SMIMCC Sanatnagar, Deputy Custodian, Baramullah and Deputy Custodian (Legal), established the allegations of illegal constructions on the custodian land and the Custodian General has now issued orders to the Custodian Evacuee Properties Kashmir to take immediate action under the relevant provisions of law under J&K State Evacuees (Administration of property) Act, 2006 and initiate necessary action against the illegal occupants who have raised constructions illegally on the evacuee land in question.
The State Vigilance Commission, taking a serious note of encroachments and constructions on Evacuees properties at the hands of private persons with the active connivance of involved officers of Custodian and Revenue Departments, has directed the Custodian General J&K to take immediate action under law against all accused and submit action taken report before the Commission on next date of hearing i.e. August 30, 2016.
