IIM Sirmaur organizes HR Conclave on ‘Leading Disruptions in HR World’

JAMMU, May 28: Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur successfully organized its first HR conclave with the theme “Leading Disruptions in HR World” at the India International Centre, New Delhi.
The day- long event was structured around keynote speeches and panel discussions. The theme revolved around HR trends, skills and futuristic talent requirements that shall be essential to be at leading edge of innovation, and varied formats of disruption including digital and technological disruptions.
The conclave was inaugurated by Prof Neelu Rohmetra, Director, IIM Sirmaur, in the presence of top HR leaders representing the corporate world, PSUs, start-ups as well as the academia.
In her address, Prof Neelu Rohmetra stressed that in data-driven world, HR Management practices must align with analytics to stay ahead successfully and lead the challenges and the disruptions posed. She further laid the roadmap for greater coordination and partnership between industry and academia and emphasized about the relevance of ‘Acceptance’ through appropriate action and decisions for efficient HR Management. “Disruptions in various forms are here to stay, however, to devise the competency and strategy to wade through these smoothly is governed by HR efficiency” she added.
S Roy Choudhury, Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO), Vodafone Idea, who was the keynote speaker of the occasion, talked about emerging technological trends in Human Resource sector around the world. Abhra Banerjee, Vice President & SBU Head, Havells India, spoke on the topic “Entrepreneurial Leadership Culture at Havells India.” Dr Jimmy Kansal, Deputy Director & Head (HR), DRDO Chandigarh, enlightened the audience about competency interventions for scientific organizations. Pankaj Dubey, CEO & MD, Eicher Polaris, gave an inspiring talk on the topic “Road to Human Excellence” followed by a speech from Prakash Bisht, Zonal Head HR (North), ICICI Bank on the topic “Designing HR processes for disruptive changes”.
The event also hosted a panel discussion on the theme “How to manage disruptions and make workforce adaptive?” moderated by Dr Sanjay Singh, faculty: OB & HRM, IIM Sirmaur. The panelist in the discussion were Nivedita Dubey, GM, HR, Airport Authority of India; Abhisek Nag, Country HR Head, SDG Corporation; Ayush Gupta, Chief General Manager (HRD), GAIL; Satyakki Bhattacharjee, Founder Growthsqapes, Former VP and CXO HR, ABP News and Prof Nidhi Bisht, Professor (HR), MDI Gurgaon. The panel deliberated upon the issues around importance of artificial intelligence, productivity, workplace and the like.
The event concluded with a valedictory address by Daljit Singh, president, Fortis Healthcare, who shared the leadership lessons for leading a successful and fulfilling life. Partha Das Gupta, Chief Mentor Reliance Industries Ltd and Advisor IIM Sirmaur, delivered the vote of thanks.
