IIM Jammu hosts Yuva Sangam

JAMMU, May 11: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu witnessed a magnificent confluence of cultures, aspirations, and youthful energy with the grand commencement of Yuva Sangam Phase-6 at its Jagti Campus.
Yuva Sangam is an initiative of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” under the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India, envisioned to strengthen emotional connectivity among the youth of the nation through immersive cultural exchange, experiential learning, and meaningful people-to-people interactions.
The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Prof B S Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu and graced by Prof Nitin Upadhyay, Dean Academics; Prof Brigadier (Retd.) Neeraj Soni; Prof Shyam Narayan Lal, Chairperson, Anandam, IIM Jammu, Prof Sanchar Sarkar, Faculty, IIM Kozhikode, Shri Biju P, AO-HR Faculty Matters along with other officials from IIM Jammu and IIM Kozhikode.
Prof B S Sahay, in his address, highlighted the significance of such initiatives in strengthening the spirit of unity in diversity. He noted that students from Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Karnataka had travelled to Jammu & Kashmir as part of the programme. He described Jammu as an emerging hub of higher education and academic excellence. He urged the participants to actively engage with their counterparts, experience the rich cultural ethos of the region.
Prof Nitin Upadhyay highlighted the importance of platforms like Yuva Sangam in fostering connection, engagement, and a deeper sense of belonging among the youth of the country.
Prof. Brigadier Neeraj Soni inspired the delegates to embrace the spirit of experiential learning, discipline, cultural understanding, and national service. Prof Shyam Narayan Lal highlighted the deep cultural and civilizational connect between Jammu & Kashmir and Kerala, referring to the historical journey of Adi Shankaracharya to the region.
The Kerala delegation as part of the Yuva Sangam enthusiastically engaged in interactive sessions and vibrant cultural exchanges with students from Government Higher Secondary School, Kol Kandoli, and Sainik School Nagrota. The delegation also visited University of Jammu.
