IGP reviews preparedness of Samba Police to deal with crime

SAMBA, Sept 21: For  reviewing the police preparedness to deal with crime, anti-national elements as well as to sensitize all the territorial officers of District Police Samba and  alert the police force deployed on the border,  IGP Jammu  Danish Rana, today conducted a meeting with all the SDPOs and  SHOs of District Samba in the office of SSP Samba.
The IGP was accompanied by  Ashkoor Ahmed Wani, DIG Jammu-Kathua-Samba Range while the meeting was also attended by Joginder Singh, SSP Samba and  Faisal Qureshi, Addl. SP Samba.
During the meeting, necessary instructions were  imparted in maintaining Police-Public relations  for effectively handling the law and  order situations as well as also to take stock of the crime/security situation.
IGP Jammu emphasized to focus on tracking all social evils with iron hands including drug mafia  as the evil of drug abuse was  increasing day by day in hostels/campuses of the universities/educational institutions as well as spreading in the society. Stress was also given to ensure that Border Police Posts and Police Nakas established in border areas, remain alert to thwart infiltration bids keeping in view the present security scenario.
All the Police Officers were directed to take stern action against bovine smugglers as well as individuals indulging in pilferage in the commodities being distributed to the public under Public Distribution System.
