IGP Railways reviews security

JAMMU, May 25: IGP Railways MS Salaria today conducted extensive security review of Jammu-Udhampur-Katra railway track and called upon the Railways officials to beef up security arrangements in view of upcoming Amarnath yatra.
Salaria inter-acted with officers and jawans of Railways sub divisions, GRP Udhampur and GRP Katra and also held ‘darbar’ of the jawans at Katra to listen to their grievances and apprise them of steps required to secure the track from any untoward activity.
The IGP stressed upon the Railways jawans to intensify patrolling all along the track and other vital installations in close coordination with other agencies like Railways Protection Force, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police and locals police to thwart evil designs of anti-national and anti-social elements.
Salaria also paid a visit to Katra police station and inter-acted with the passengers. He inspected security arrangements like equipments installed for frisking of passengers and checking of their luggage.
