JAMMU, Dec 16: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone Mukesh Singh held a meeting with the officers of District Police, CID, Security and Traffic Police to discuss security arrangements in connection with the Republic Day celebration, here this afternoon.
Singh stressed upon all the officers to ensure anti-sabotage check of MA stadium and its outer periphery on regular basis to rule out the possibility of any mischievous act. The guards deployed should be properly briefed by SHOs, SDPOs and ASP concerned regarding the nature and importance of duties to be performed by them in view of the present security scenario of Jammu Province.
He advised census of the inhabitants/tenants residing in and around the stadium, checking of Hotels and other lodgments be under taken on priority. Joint nakas at selected places be established immediately so that no ANE/ASE could sneak in the city, he said, adding that night patrolling on National Highway be conducted.
IGP Jammu further directed SSP Jammu, SSP CID/CB Jammu to activate their all resources available with them to generate intelligence having bearing on Republic Day in advance so that anti-national and anti-social elements could not succeed in their nefarious designs.
He further said that supervisory officers be directed to remain alert in their respective jurisdictional areas.
SSP Jammu was also directed to ensure that all the guards deployed in Jammu district should be checked by the Gazetted Officer especially during night. For the purpose, night duty roaster register for GOs should be properly maintained and checked at DPO level on daily basis. SSP Traffic City Jammu was directed to identify adequate parking slots in advance so that no inconvenience is caused to the dignitaries as well as general public.
