JAMMU, Nov 24: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Regional Centre Jammu organized one-day annual meeting of Coordinators and Programme Incharge of all the Learner Study Centres, here today.
The Coordinators and Programme Incharge from various Learner Study Centres spread across the Jammu Region participated in the meeting.
The Coordinators and Programme Incharge had an interactive session with the Regional Centre functionaries in which several issues related to the functioning of Learner Study Centres were discussed and resolved on spot. Besides this, various issues pertaining to Student Support Services were discussed and necessary strategies were planned to improve the quality of support services being provided to the learners at the Study Centre level.
Regional Director, KK Bhat briefed the gathering about the growth of Regional Centre Jammu over the years. He elaborated about various developments in terms of growth of enrolment, growth of learner centre network, growth of revenue and other things.
KK Bhat, Regional Director urged the Coordinators to ensure the maximum participation of IGNOU students to avail various facilities provided to the Centres like tele-conferencing and broadband facility and see to it that the equipment is put to the best use at their respective Learner Centres for the benefit of maximum number of students.
He assured that IGNOU will not allow its programmes to deteriorate in terms of quality content and support services.
Vikram Singh, Dr Sandeep Gupta and Dr Asha Upadhiay, Assistant Regional Directors, interacted with the Coordinators and discussed various issues pertaining to examinations, students support services and admissions respectively.
Tejinder Pal Singh, Assistant Registrar, briefed about the issues related to accounts and finance through an interactive session.
Dara Singh, Executive Assistant, alongwith the team comprising of Lakhbir Singh, Sweety Gupta and Naveen Dutta carried out the audit of accounts books of Learner Centres on the spot.
Rakesh Koul briefed the gathering about various measures being taken to reduce the grievances related to the dispatch and distribution of study material to students so that the material reaches to the registered students well in time.
