JAMMU, Nov 9: As a part of strengthening of student support services in the region, Jammu Regional Centre of IGNOU organized a one-day students’ grievance redressal camp at its Regional Office today.
The camp was organized for the students of January 2018 and July 2018 admission sessions. The students were informed through SMS alerts to visit the RC in case there are any long pending queries or grievances. Regional Centre has regularly organized several such camps in the past. The initiative has also been taken keeping in view the non-availability of mobile internet services in the region.
A number of students visited the Regional Centre and they queries were attended by the grievance handling team of RC under the supervision of Dr Sandeep Gupta, Assistant Regional Director. The students came up with a variety of queries and grievances pertaining to assignment updation, practicals, dissertations, old assignments, online admissions, refund of fee, scholarships, SC/ST fee reimbursement, non-receipt of Grade Card, Degree, Diploma, etc. Most of the queries were resolved on the spot. The grievances pertaining to the New Delhi HQs were taken up with the concerned divisions then and there.
The students expressed happiness and satisfaction about this special initiative of the Regional Centre. Regional Director, Er K K Bhat informed that Regional Centre will organize more such camps in the coming months at the Regional Centre and also at the Learner Support Centres so that students belonging to far off places do not have to travel down to the RC for settlement of their grievances.
