SRINAGAR, June 9: The IGNOU Regional Centre announced today the commencement of the admission process for various academic programs for the July 2024 admission cycle. The deadline for applications is June 30, with several new programs being introduced this cycle.
Dr. A.H. Rizvi, Regional Director of IGNOU, shared details about the admission process during a press conference here, highlighting several newly launched academic programs, including various M.Sc. programs.
Dr. Rizvi mentioned that the university has introduced a four-year undergraduate program (FYUP) in alignment with NEP 2020.
He further noted, “The university has also received approval from UGC & AICTE for four new MBA programs: MBA Human Resource Management (MBAHRM), MBA Marketing Management (MBAMM), MBA Finance Management, and MBA Operational Management (MBAOM). Additionally, the university continues to offer MBA in Banking and Finance, MBA (General) in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode, and MBA (General) in online mode.”
He also discussed recently launched programs, including M.Sc. Geography, MA in Journalism and Electronic Media (MAJEM), MA in Journalism and Digital Media (MAJDM), M.Sc. in Information Security (MSCIS), Masters in Urdu (MAUD), PG Diploma in Environmental Management and Law (PGDEML), Post Graduate Diploma in Agribusiness (PGDAB), and various Undergraduate Honours programs in several academic disciplines.
“There is no need to appear in any entrance test to gain admission into any of these seven different MBA programs. The revised Master of Computer Applications (MCA) program has also been launched with UGC & AICTE approval and will now be of two years duration,” he added.
Dr. Rizvi also mentioned that eligibility requirements have been relaxed, specifically the requirement of having Mathematics as a subject at the undergraduate level. “There is also no entrance test requirement for this program,” he said.
Newly launched programs include M.Sc. Chemistry, M.Sc. Zoology, M.Sc. Applied Chemistry, M.Sc. Physics, M.Sc. Biochemistry, PG Diploma in Disaster Risk Reduction & Management (PGDDRRM), Diploma in Agriculture & Cost Management (DACM), Master of Arts in Applied Urdu (MAAUD), Certificate in Event Management (CEVMT), and Awareness-Cum-Training Package for Parents of Children with Disability-Visual Impairment (NCD-102).
