JAMMU, May 17: J&K Co-ordination Committee of Trade Unions (JKCCTU) has expressed concern over the decision of Government to fill all Class IV posts on fast track basis.
In a handout Md Maqbool, President and Gurmeet Singh, General Secretary of JKCCTU stated that the Government is ignoring the burning and pending issue of regularization and wage increase of thousands of casual, contractual, Angawadi and Asha workers.
The Union leaders claimed that all these vacant posts are meant for the absorption of these temporary workers as has been the practice in the past especially in departments like PDD, PHE, R&B etc.
They also said that these temporary workers have not been paid their wages since last many months which has deteriorated their economic conditions badly under the ongoing lockdown.
“These employees are working as frontline workers to fight COVID-19 pandemic these days risking their lives and are maintaining essential services like power, water supply, sanitation, health related activities, food supplies etc,” JKCCTU leaders said demanding release of pending wages of temporary workers before EID festival.
