JAMMU, Feb 14: Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), Jammu in technical collaboration with Department of CS&IT and Department of Electronics, University of Jammu, and Vigyan Parishad, J&K, celebrated Students’ Day, in online mode, today.
On the occasion, Madhu Vadlamani, Deputy Manager, Deloitte Consulting Private Limited, Hyderabad, gave an invited talk titled – Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Security.
Professor Pawanesh Abrol, Chairman, IETE Jammu and Head, Department of Computer Science & IT, University of Jammu while welcoming the resource person and the participants, emphasized that the Students’ Day is celebrated by all the IETE centers across India by organizing academic events for providing opportunities to the student fraternity for sharing and interacting on innovative ideas.
Vijay Sharma, Secretary, IETE Jammu read the message received from Prof (Wing Commander) Pradeep Prabhakar, president, IETE, New Delhi. The president in his message conveyed that it is the eneavour of IETE, to empower the students from the weaker sections of the society from all over India including the remote area by imparting technical education at affordable cost.
Samir Vohra, organizing secretary, Vigyan Parishad, J&K while addressing the participants conveyed the best wishes from Prof Rajnikant, president Vigyan Parishad, J&K.
Prof Parveen Lehana, Head, Department of Electronics while introducing the speaker emphasized that artificial intelligence is becoming essential to information security, as these technologies are capable of swiftly analyzing millions of data sets for tracking cyber threats with capabilities of continual improvements by learning.
Madhu Vadlamani, delivered a detailed and informative talk on the security aspects of AI dwelling upon the various artificial intelligence based latest technological advancements.
Maj General S K Sharma (retired) presented the concluding remarks while Joy Ganjoo, FIETE presented the formal vote of thanks.
Prominent among those who attended the event include Subhash Chander Jain (chairman, IETE Chandigarh), Samir Sharma (vice chairman, IETE JSC), Prof Rakesh Vaid, besides a large number of scholars, students, and faculty members from DRDO Hyderabad, ISF MIET, University of Jammu and other institutions.
