Srinagar Dec 20: Scores of Supervisors working with Social Welfare Department’s Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) today protested at Press Colony against their long pending salaries.
The supervisors from various districts of the State assembled at Partap Park holding placards that read ‘Save ICDS’, ‘Enough is enough’, amid slogans in favor of their demands.
“We haven’t received a single penny from April 2018 which has inflicted suffering on us. We are regular employees of the department but we are being treated worse than daily wagers”, said Abida, President of ICDS Supervisors Union.
The protesting supervisors said that they work for the betterment of children; however, their own children are suffering now.
“We have sent many written representations to authorities but our pleas are falling on deaf ears”, they said.
