JAMMU, June 21: A jawan of Indian Air Force (IAF) died today under mysterious circumstances at his residence in Pounichak area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, the jawan identified as Butta Singh (28) son of late Mohan Singh, resident of Gho Manhasa, complained of a sudden chest pain at his residence following which he was shifted to Air Force Hospital, Satwari, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
“The body of the deceased was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where after postmortem it was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites”, he said, adding, a Pounicak police had initiated inquest proceedings in the case.
The deceased jawan was presently posted at Bareli in Uttar Pradesh.
