I will provide corruption-free Govt if voted to power: Azad

‘DPAP will focus on development agenda’

DODA, Aug 13: Former J&K Chief Minister and DPAP chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad has reiterated that he will continue his political battle to secure the jobs and land rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and declared that his aim of returning to Jammu and Kashmir is attached with the socio-political emancipation of common people. He said, if elected to power he will focus on development and corruption-free’ governance.
Azad was addressing a massive public rally at Chiralla in Bhaderwah on the last day of his 10- day long extensive tour of erstwhile Doda district. Azad met hundreds of delegations and addressed huge public rallies during his visit.
“My heart is beating for the people of Doda belt and the rest of UT. My dream is to work for you people and ensure all of you are politically and economically empowered to an extent so that you won’t  need to beg before anyone,” he told his workers.
Azad said that while his meeting with various delegations, he was apprised with number of public issues and he promised that he will take up with authorities for their redressal. The DPAP chairman said that his party was strongly against the coercive measures of land eviction by Jammu and Kashmir Government and it was due to the party protests that former was forced to stop the drive.
Former Chief Minister said that securing land and jobs of local people is the primary agenda of his party, therefore, the fight shall continue untill guarantee is granted by Government of India. He claimed that he will restore triple shift work culture in the J&K if voted to power.
Azad said many poor people from Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Rajouri, Reasi and hilly areas of Udhampur and Kathua have gone for working as labourers in other States as there is no work available to them in J&K. DPAP leader claimed that he will generate work for them so that they need not to go outside from their own state, if voted to power. He sought tremendous support of the people of J&K for his party in the forthcoming elections.
Among others who were present in the meeting included, GM Saroori- vice chairman, Abdul Majeed Wani- general secretary, Mohd Aslam Goni -Working Committee member, PR Manhas (Retd IGP) -Zonal president, Asif Gattu- District president DPAP, Vishal Chopra and Farooq Shikari- provincial general secretaries and senior leader- Pritam Kotwal.
