NEW DELHI, Mar 1: Auto maker Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) today reported a decline of 14.9 per cent in its total sales which
stood at 46,505 vehicles in February 2014. HMIL, India’s second largest car manufacturer, had sold 54,665 units during the corresponding month last year.
Its domestic sales remained flat at 34,005 units, while exports fell 39.5 per cent to 12,500 vehicles during the month under review.
“Post the reduction in excise duty, enquiry inflow has increased with February sales of 34,005 units with a growth of 2 per cent over the earlier month,” HMIL Senior Vice President (Sales and Marketing) Rakesh Srivastava said in a release.
It is expected that this will lead towards creation of a positive momentum, he added.
At present, HMIL markets 10 car models across segments–Eon, Santro, i10, Grand , i20, Verna, Xcent, Elantra, Sonata, and Santa Fe. (AGENCIES)
