Hunger strike by Contractual Lecturers enters 244th day

JAMMU, Oct 15: The ongoing chain hunger strike by the Contractual Plus 2 Lecturers entered into 244th day today as there has been no positive response of the Government towards their demand of regularization.
The protesting Contractual Lecturers today held demonstration amidst releasing of balloons in air as a symbol of State Government’s failure to fulfill its promises. Just like these balloons, this State Government is also all set to get disappear in the air because of its failures,” said Jeevan Kumar, spokesperson of the Contractual Plus 2 Lecturers Association.
The protest demonstration at the venue of chain hunger strike near Press Club Jammu, was also addressed by president of the Association, Arun Bakshi, Balvinder Kour and others, who vowed to continue the struggle till the Government concedes their demand.
These Contractual Lecturers are demanding their regularization as per Civil Services Provision Act 2010, a Legislature passed for the regularization of all the Contractual/ Adhoc/ Consolidated/employees as one time exception/relaxation
Those who replaced earlier batch on chain hunger strike today, included Anil, Mangeshwar Kumar, Monika Devi and Balvinder Kour.
