KATHUA, Aug 3: Lakhanpur police has foiled an attempt of smuggling of huge quantity of medicine drugs used by druggists from a Kashmir based person. A Case FIR No. 67/2022 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered against Irshad Ahmed Shah, son of Abdul Rehman Shah of Takia Hugam tehsil Bijbehara district Anantnag, who was coming from Punjab and recovered approximately 300 bottles of “COREX” & “OMEREX” cough syrup and approximately 700 capsules of *Spasmo-Proxyvon Plus from his possession packed in a bag . After getting specific information, trap was laid down by police to nab drug peddler and they succeeded in the mission, said SSP Kathua RC Kotwal.
He said that the drugs were carried out from Punjab towards Kashmir. The drug peddler walking on road while carrying a suitcase to dodge the police. But the alert Lakhanpur police nabbed him with huge quantity of medicine drugs.
The further verification is being started to get more information into the matter.
