HUDD okays prosecution of Enforcement Office

JAMMU, Jan 24: The Housing and Urban Development Department (HUDD) of J&K has accorded the sanction to prosecute in-service public servant allegedly involved in a corruption case.
The order in this regard stated that Ghulam Rasool Dar, the then Enforcement Officer at Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has received illegal graft of Rs 32,000 from a hotelier in the year 2014 and was caught.
He was arrested and released on bail on December 25, 2014.
During investigation of the case it came to fore that the accused also got illegal money to the tune of Rs. 5,10,000 from the same hotelier in the form of bank cheques.
The investigation agency had also established the case against the accused Ghulam Rasool Dar for commission of offences under different sections of Prevention of Corruption Act.
Ultimately the HUDD of J&K in an order has accorded sanction to prosecute Ghulam Rasool Dar for the alleged corrupt practice.
