JAMMU, Sept 23: A book of Hindi poetry collection titled ‘Bikhra Hoon, Toota Nahin’ written by Sofia Jangral, a young writer of J&K was released by Hindi Sahitya Mandal Jammu (HSM-J) in a function organized at Government College for Women, Parade. Dr. Raj Kumar, well known Hindi writer and academician was the special guest whereas Maharaj Krishan Santoshi, a noted writer of J&K presided over the function.
Dr. Chanchal Dogra, president HSM-J, Amita Mehta and Sofia Jangral shared the dais.
A large number of intellectuals and writers attended the function which started with formal invitation to guests to dais by Manto Dutta Sharma.
Welcoming the guests and audience, Dr. Chanchal Dogra, president HSM-J gave a brief of the activities of HSM.
A paper on merits and critical evaluation of the released book ‘Bikhra Hoon, Toota Nahin’ was presented by Amita Mehta, a Hindi writer of J&K.
Speaking on the occasion, Maharaj Krishan Santoshi said that writing poetry is a journey.
He said that title of the book is the reflection of poetess’s positivity in approach to life.
Dr. Raj Kumar, Dr. Baljit Singh Raina, senior writer and Sofia Jangral also spoke on the occasion.
Proceedings of the programme were conducted by Uma Sharma, literary secretary and Sanjiv Bhasin, vice- president HSM-J.
The programme ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Pawan Khajuria, vice-president HSM-J.
