JAMMU, Oct 7: The students of Humanity Public School (HPS) (Bassi Kalan, Bari Brahmana) brought laurels to the institution by winning five Gold and two silver medals in the district level Rajeev Gandhi Khel Abhiyan -2015, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (district- Samba).
In U-14 yrs (Girls) category, Yasmeen Akhtar of 8th standard won three Gold Medals in 100 mtr sprint, 200 mtr race and Shortput; Sangeeta Devi of 8th standard won Gold Medal in Discus throw; while Shaidu Bibi of 8th standard got Silver Medal in 400 mtr race.
In U-17 yrs (Girls) category, Neha Jaral of 9th standard won Gold Medal in Long Jump and she got Silver Medal in High Jump.
The students of the school who participated in this Athletic Meet were honoured in the special assembly by Gaurav Charak (Principal), Anku Charak (Vice Principal), Mahan Singh (PTI), Surekha and Ajay Sharma (Sports Incharge) along with the staff members.
About 350 students from all Panchayats of district Samba participated in this tournament.
