JAMMU, Mar 12: HPCL-NIIT Unnati— an initiative of imparting free computer training to school going students concluded here today in Jammu.
In this connection a function was organized today to distribute certificates to the students, who successfully completed their computer course.
Besides the students, staff of the beneficiary school, faculty from NIIT Jammu centre and senior Regional Manager of HPCL, Munish Tandon, was also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Munish Tandon, stated that his company has tied up nationally with NIIT for this noble cause. He also talked about benefits of computers in daily life.
Earlier, Director of NIIT Franchise Company, Jammu, Rahul Sharma, welcomed the guests and distributed certificates to the students.
Under the “Unnati” scheme, school children were given free computer training by NIIT Jammu centres in the months of September, October and November.
During this period, HPCL also donated computer hardware to the schools besides providing training to the teachers of the school.
NIIT Jammu Centre and local branch of the HPCL jointly selected private school “Oriental Academy” as the beneficiary school to which HPCL provided five branded computers and other hardware.
During three months period, NIIT Jammu centre imparted two months training to about 200 students.
