POONCH, Mar 12: A meeting of district officers was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (District Election Officer) Poonch, Sajjad Ahmed Khan to assess the preparedness and to further rejuvenate the electoral machinery in district Poonch, today.
The District Election Officer impressed upon the officers of concerned departments to ensure basic minimum facilities like functional toilets power and water supply at every polling station.
He also directed the Social Welfare Department to organise Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) camps for the disabled, old, Anganwadi workers and other vulnerable sections so that maximum electoral participation is achieved.
He also highlighted the democratic importance of implementation of Model Code of Conduct in letter and spirit and warned the Government employees of violation of Model Code of Conduct.
Amongst others, Additional DC Mohd Mumtaz Ali, ADDC Arvind Sharma, ACD Shokat Malik and (ACR) Shafeeq Ahmed attended the meeting.
